Rambo is getting a brand new video game

3 hrs.

Thirty years after making his film debut,?Rambo ? yes, that Rambo ? is getting his own modern video game.

British game publisher Reef Entertainment has revealed the first screenshots for its forthcoming game for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360?and PC. It's?called, well,?"Rambo: The Video Game" and it stars everyone's favorite troubled guerrilla warfare specialist.

A year ago, Reef announced that it?had aquired the?license?to make Rambo games?based on the movies?from?film company StudioCanal. But Reef hadn't?said spit about it since then. Then, on Friday, it?unveiled?the first screenshots as well as a?trailer for the game ??though the trailer is just footage from the movie. (See below.)

"We have been dedicated to creating a video?game for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle," Reef Entertainment commercial director Craig Lewis?said in?a statement.

Reef didn't reveal many details about the game but announced it?would be playable at this year's GamesCom convention taking place in Germany starting next week. And Lewis promised, it "will capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful."

It certainly?won't be the first "Rambo" game ever made. Way back in 1985, there was a "Rambo" game for the Commodore 64 based on "Rambo: First Blood Part II." And there were?"Rambo III" games for Sega's Genesis and Master System as well as an arcade game made in the late 1980s. But yeah, things have changed a bit since then:
